The Unwritten Archive is a design-driven exploration of identity, storytelling, and embodiment, translated through garments and objects worn on the body. The work brings conceptual ideas into lived experience, using photography to document how these forms exist, move, and interact with diverse individuals.
Featuring a range of models, the imagery reflects the multiplicity and hybridity of Black identity, challenging singular or fixed representations. A balance of structured composition and expressive movement emphasizes texture, form, and presence, allowing the work to exist both as a designed object and a lived narrative. Through this approach, the body becomes an active site of storytelling, where identity is not only represented but performed, experienced, and continuously redefined.
