4C
4C is a conceptual object that explores Black hair as a site of identity, versatility, and interiority. Referencing the 4C hair classification, the sculptural form translates the density, movement, and adaptability of natural hair into a three-dimensional bag.
The exterior reflects the complexity and texture of Afro hair, while the interior compartment represents hidden narratives and personal memory. The act of opening the object becomes a gesture of revealing—unfolding layers of identity that are not always visible externally.
4C expands the archive beyond the body, positioning objects as vessels for storytelling and lived experience.
